Norway's Troll, Kvitebjoern fields returning faster than expected

OSLO: Production from Norway's gas fields Troll and Kvitebjoern is returning faster than previously expected after outages, the gas system operator Gassco said on Thursday.

Production capacity at Troll, the country's biggest, will be cut by 53.6 million cubic metres (mcm) per day on Thursday, less than the previously expected 65.6 mcm/day.

Gassco also said the outage at the field, which has a full capacity of about 120 million mcm/day, was expected to end on Thursday rather than Friday.

Output from the Kvitebjoern field will be down by 10 mcm/day on Thursday following an outage, less than the previously expected cut of 14 mcm/day.
