Sharjeel Memon thanks citizens for impressive show in Peace Rally
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon on Saturday felicitated the Karachiites for bringing out an impressive rally to reflect their strong will for peace and harmony in the city.
He also expressed his gratitude to the members of civil society and activists, belonging to different political, religious and social groups, for actively participating in the rally.
"The rally was our first step towards peace and unity," said Sharjeel Memon.
The provincial minister said "The journey to peace" that had begun on Saturday would continue till complete restoration of the aura Karachi was known for in the world.
He also appealed to the political parties to play their role in restoration of peace in the city and promote a culture of tolerance.
"Politics means negotiations and communication," commented the minister and urged the leaders and workers of all political parties to use the tool of politics for erasing differences.
He particularly thanked MQM, ANP and PML (Functional) as well as the business community for paving the way towards peace, tranquillity and brotherhood in Karachi.
