Administration fines 33 shopkeepers, arrests two for profiteering

KARACHI: Two chronic profiteers were jailed and 33 others including 04 milk sellers, 02 grocers, 26 chicken sellers and one green grocer was fined of Rs.75,500 for violating official price list in the city.

A spokesman from Karachi Commissioner office sharing details of the latest day long campaign with the media on Wednesday said crackdown against adulterators, profiteers and hoarders would continue in the city till the writ of the administration is established for good.

It was claimed that the crackdown launched a few months ago has significantly improved easy availability of quality edible items to the citizens.
