Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity was observed at Port Qasim where five ships carrying containers, crude oil and palm oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday, July 26.
Meanwhile, four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, diesel oil and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at sixty two percent where a total of eight ships namely C.V CMA CGM Mozart, C.V AI-Mutanabbl, C.V Margurite Rickmers, M.V Wales-II, M.V Nelson, M.T Anggraini, M.T Isabel Knutsen and M.T Mako are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil, chemicals and crude oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 95,510 tannes, comprising 70,424 tonnes import cargo and 25,086 tonnes export cargo inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,470 containers (TEUS) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
M.T Isabel Knutsen sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships C.V CMA CGM Mozart and C.V AI-Mutanabbi are expected to sail on same day.
Five ships C.V Pago, C.V OOCL San Francisco, M.V Alaska-II, M.T Golden Ambrosia and Sunrise Wister scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-2, MW-1 and LCT respectively on Wednesday, July 27.
