IGP directs police to take stern action against miscreants
KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Wajid Ali Durrani has directed the police officials to take stern action against those found involved in violence.
"Use of sophisticated weapons in the affected parts of the city poses great challenge to the law enforcement agencies," he observed.
According to a statement issued here on Tuesday by the Central Police Office (CPO), the IGP said that action should be taken against anti-social elements without any discrimination.
He also asked for effective measures of snap checking in the city and monitor affected areas particularly through intelligence network.
He also issued directives to the DIGs of all zones to monitor their respective areas through their subordinate SSPs and SHOs.
"There is also need to collect data about the sale and purchase of plots in the residential areas of affected parts of the city," he added.
