ISLAMABAD: Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, a Judge of the Supreme Court, took oath as Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan in a simple ceremony held here on Tuesday in the Supreme Court building.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry administered the oath of the office to Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan.
Judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Attorney General for Pakistan, members and senior officers of the Election Commission of Pakistan, Director General (HR) Supreme Court of Pakistan, Director General, Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad, Secretary and officers of Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan, senior Lawyers and Law officers attend the ceremony.
Registrar Supreme Court of Pakistan Dr. Faqir Hussain conducted the proceedings of the ceremony. Senior officials of the Supreme Court of Pakistan also attended the ceremony.
