HONG KONG: China's yuan edged up against the dollar on Wednesday, after the central bank snapped a four-day streak of weaker midpoints.
Spot yuan changed hands at 6.1111 per dollar near midday, up 0.07 percent from previous day's close at 6.1152.
The People's Bank of China set the official midpoint at 6.1503, up 0.06 percent from Tuesday's 6.1543.
The spot rate is currently allowed to trade 2 percent above or below the midpoint.
