Special security at railway station
Lahore: Special security arrangements have been made by railway police, backed by special commandos, at the Lahore railway station. Police and twenty special commandos conducted snap checking at various locations including entry points and waiting halls of the station and people were allowed in after proper screening by security personnel.
Muhammad Attiq, DSP of Railway Police, told APP on Saturday that officials of Bomb Disposal Squad were also appointed at platform number 1 for security of Samjhota Express and a special scanning machine had also been installed.
Walk-through gates at entry points of the railway station are working properly and railway police demanded more security gates, he added.
The DSP said that contractors of godowns had appointed their own security guard for the protection of their goods and railway police was also checking the situation regularly.
Talking about CCTV cameras installed at the station, he said that all cameras were working properly and special arrangements had been made in the monitoring room for the protection of the public.
He said that senior officials were also patrolling platforms during the departure and arrival of trains to check the security situation.
