Silk Association demands interest free loans

PESHAWAR: The Silk Unit Association Swat on Thursday demanded of the government to provide interest-free loans to traders and owners of silk industry affected by last year devastated foods. "We would highly appreciate if the government return the waived off money under electricity bills head," President Silk Unit Association, Sarzamin Khan told journalists in Swat.

"It would greatly help revive the dwindling silk industry in Swat," he added. He said militancy, terrorism and devastated floods had incurred millions of rupees losses to traders and owners of silk industry and expressed the hope the government would soon announce compensation for the affecters.

Khan also demanded interest free loans to affected traders and mills owners on easy terms and condition to help them to stand on their own feet and contribute towards development of the country.

He urged the government to provide electricity on cheap rates to areas where silk industry existed.
