KARACHI: Two ships C.V MSC Antalyo and M.T Argent Aster carrying containers and phosphoric acid were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Sunday. 17th July. Meanwhile two more ships with containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth Occupancy was observed at the Port at 50% on Sunday where seven ships namely C.V MSC Antalya, C.V Nilgun. M.V M.V Giovanni Bottigieri, M.V Acricana, M.T Karachi, M T Yas and M.T Argent Aster were occupied 01 PQA berths to load/offload containers, canola seeds, iron ore, furnace oil, chemicals and phosphoric Acid respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 84,320 tonnes comprises 68,227 tonnes imports and 16,093 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 847 Containers (TEUs) ( 1,723 imports and 876 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port. Departures: Two ships container vessel MSC Antolya and oil tanker 'Karachi' sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships container vessel 'Posen' and Chemical carrier 'Argent Aster' are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Arrival Schedule: Throe ships C.V Posen. C.V Cape Melville and M.T Al- Salam-II carrying containers and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday, 18th August, 2014.
