KP approves grant of Rs.263.67m for TMAs

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has approved a grant of Rs.263.679 million for Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) for clearance of PESCO dues.

The payment on account of electricity dues will be made directly to PESCO through an advice to State Bank of Pakistan.

It may be mentioned here that the PESCO had requested the provincial govt for clearance of PESCO dues amounting to Rs.1102.766 outstanding against TMAs.

However, later on, the TMAs made reconciliation with the PESCO and reported that the mutually agreed amount to be paid on account of electricity dues was Rs.263.679 million. Since the TMAs were facing financial crises and were not able to clear the dues, therefore, the provincial govt sanctioned the required amount for TMAs to clear PESCO dues and avoid power disconnection.
