91 shopkeepers fined for profiteering

KARACHI: The divisional and district administration Karachi has challaned 91 shopkeepers and fine of Rs1,80,700 were imposed for violating officially approved price list.

According to a statement issued here on Thursday, the action against profiteers were taken in the areas including Garden, Gulshan Iqbal, Gulzar Hijri, Ferozabad, Manghopir, Liaquat Abad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, New Karachi, Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Model Colony, and Bin Qasim.

During crackdown, the administration fined 62 milk sellers, three food items grocers, 21 chicken sellers, one fruit seller and four vegetable sellers.

Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that the crackdown against profiteers will continue till its logical end.
