KARACHI: The divisional and district administration Karachi has fined 63 shopkeepers for profiteering and violating officially approved price list while three shopkeepers were arrested for continuous profiteering.
According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, the action against profiteers were taken in the areas including Saddar, Garden, Maripur, Jamshed Quarters, Gulshan Iqbal, Gulzar Hijri, Orangi, Liaquat Abad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, New Karachi, Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Model Colony, Bin Qasim and Airport.
During crackdown, the administration fined 37 milk sellers, six food items grocers, 19 chicken sellers, one fruit seller.
Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that the crackdown against profiteers will continue till its logical end.
