KARACHI: Cotton price (new crop) has increased by Rs200 to Rs8,750 per maund in the open market while phutti climbed by Rs300 to Rs3,850 per 40 kilo in Sindh, market sources said here Tuesday.
In Punjab, Phutti was selling between Rs3,900 to Rs4,000 per 40 kg after gaining Rs300, they said.
A leading broker Naseem Usman said that phutti has started arriving in ginning factories from Chichawatani, Burewala, Arifwala and Pakpattan Sharif in Pubjab and Shehdadpur and Sanghar in lower Sindh.
Binola price has also increased by Rs125 to 1,200 to Rs1,220 per maund in Sindh and Rs1,300 to Rs1,350 in Punjab.
