imageISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Education, Training and Standards in Higher Education and Interior Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman on Monday hailed President Mamnoon Hussain' maiden address to the joint session of Parliament.

Commenting on the President's speech, Baligh said all the issues being confronted by the country, including energy crisis, terrorism and price hike were touched upon.

The President referred the launch of 19 power projects with total capacity of 24,870 MW, which would help cope the energy crisis, giving relief to the masses, he added.

Schemes launched by the present government such as PM's Youth Business Loan Scheme, Interest-free scheme, Skill Development Programme and Youth Training Programmes were mentioned as the same would reduce unemployment among the youth, he added.

The minister said the fee reimbursement scheme launched from Balochistan to benefit 30,000 students would enable the youth to acquire quality higher education.

He said 50 per cent allocation for women in these schemes would make them self-reliant and enable them to play their role in national development.

Baligh said the government was taking concrete steps to cope with challenges, including terrorism and energy crisis.
