86 shopkeepers fined for violating price list

KARACHI: As many as 86 shopkeepers were challaned and a fine of Rs 181,500 were imposed for overcharging in violation to the price list of essential commodities.

Commissioner Karachi has said that action is being taken against profiteers and hoarders by the divisional and district administrations, said a statement on Wednesday.

It said 54 milk sellers, two vegetable merchants, nine food items grocers and 21 chicken sellers were challaned for violating price list.

The Commissioner Karachi said that the crackdown against profiteers will continue, till the time the sale of essential items is not ensured in accordance with the price list.
