KARACHI: The divisional and district administration Karachi has challaned 98 shopkeepers and fine of Rs 2,50,500 were imposed while four were arrested for profiteering and violating officially approved price list.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that city administration has taken action in those areas from where the complaints of price hike were received which include Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, Bin Qasim, Ibrahim Haidri, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, Gulberg, Liaquat Abad, Gulshan Iqbal, Jamshed Quarters, Garden, Civil Line and Aram Bagh.
According to a statement issued here on Monday, during crack down against profiteers 65 milk sellers, one meat vendor, three flour sellers and 22 chicken sellers were fined.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that the campaign launched against profiteers would continue till its logical end.
