US stockNEW YORK: US stocks were mixed on Monday, with markets largely stable after a brutal sell-off last week driven by concerns about a slowing economic recovery.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.06 points (0.01 percent) at 11,952.97 in final trades.

The broader S&P 500 index gained 0.85 point (0.07 percent) at 1,271.83, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite fell 4.04 points (0.15 percent) to 2,639.69.

"Investors are cautious here," said Mace Blicksilver of Marblehead Asset Management. "The big thing right now in terms of growth is the idea that growth is decelerating and I think that is the reason why the market is weak."
