Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Four ships carrying containers and diesel oil were berthed at Port Qasim International Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday, June 9.
Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and wheat also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy remained at 54% at the Port on Thursday where a total or seven ships namely C.V MSC Magali, C.V Santa Pola, C.V New Delhi Express, M.V Abdul, M.V Alexi-I, M.V Irini and M.T Al-Kuwaitiah are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, wheat, cement and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 68,858 tonnes, comprising 46,754 tonnes imports and 22,104 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,551 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Two container ships Santa Pola and New Delhi Express sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
Three ships C.V Glory, M.T Victory Ocean and M.T Patriotic carrying containers, palm oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT and EVTL respectively on Friday, June 10.
Three ships C.V Rio Eider, M.V Radeim and M.T Catt rick are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday,June 11, while two more ships C.V Maersk Idaho and M.T Al-Salam-II are due to arrive on Sunday, June
