SEOUL: South Korean Treasury bond prices fell sharply on Friday, hit by the central bank's decision to raise the policy interest rate despite market expectations for no change, Korea Financial Industry Association data showed.
Shorter-term bond prices fell more sharply, with the 1-year yield gaining 9 basis points to end at 3.49 percent, marking its biggest daily gain since Nov. 1, 2010.
Quotes from the association are used as official closing yields on government bonds.
