QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that the relations between Turkey and Pakistan are rooted in shared history, a common cultural heritage and reflect the aspiration of our people living in both countries.
He was addressing the last session of a two-day International Forum held at Istanbul (Turkey) titled "Turkey Educational Challenges: International Experience in Education Policy & Search for Solutions," said a handout issued by the Directorate of Public Relations Balochistan here on Monday.
The Chief Minister was of the view that the two countries stand to benefit immensely by closer interaction with each other in different fields.
He expressed deep gratitude to Abant Plat-forum for inviting him to this informative gathering about important issue of education.
He said that Turkey is a sincere and time tested friend of Pakistan. Both the countries are tied in brotherly relations because both share same religious, historical, cultural and traditional values. Both the counties are extending mutual cooperation to each other in diversified fields and the relations between them is bolstering with each passing day, he added.
Both the countries share similarity of views on various international issues. Sharing information about Balochistan he said, that Balochistan is having a huge area that is spread over 3,75,000 sq km but it is scarcely populated having a population of less than 10 million. It is rich in natural resources having 700 km long coastal belt of warm waters and sharing borders with Afghanistan and Iran.
He said Balochistan Education Sector Plan (BESP) costing Rs 61.359 billion has been prepared as the instrument to manage the prioritization, planning, execution, monitoring and review of education policies and strategies. The document covers a five-year period with provisions for periodic (annual) revision based on monitoring of the implementation process. Provision for a midterm evaluation has also been included.
