Gross agricultural production increases 1.2pc

ISLAMABAD: The production of Cotton and rice has dropped while Sugarcane and wheat production has increased in the current fiscal year.

Pakistan's overall agricultural production has only increased by 1.2 percent while industrial production could drop by 0.1 percent, a news channel reported on Thursday.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), compared to last year, the production of cotton has reduced by 11.3 percent while production of rice has reduced by 30 percent.

On the other hand, sugarcane production has increased by 12 percent, wheat by 3.9 percent while maize production has also increased by 4 percent.
