LAHORE: Lahore Stock Exchange on the first day of 2014 here Wednesday witnessed bullish trend by gaining 48.25 points, as the LSE Index-25 opened with 4830.62 points and closed at 4878.87 points.
The market's overall situation also corresponded to an upward trend as it remained at 2.411 million shares to close against previous turnover of 1.735 million shares, showing an upward move of 676,900 shares. While, out of the total 129 active scrips 62 moved up, 6 shed values and 61 remained equal.
The Major Gainers of the day were Nishat Mills Limited, D.G.Khan Cement Company and Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 6.36, Rs 4.21 and Rs 2.89 respectively.
Sana Industries Limited, Engro Foods Limited and Saritow Spinning Mills Limited lost their per share value by Rs 2.85, Rs 1.50 and Re 0.25 respectively.
Top three Volume Leaders of the day included Lafarge Pakistan Cement with 504,000 shares, Fauji Cement Company Limited with 434,500 shares and The Bank of Punjab Limited with 244,000 shares.
