82 shopkeepers fined for overcharging

imageKARACHI: Eighty two shopkeepers were challaned and fined of Rs.68,200 for overcharging purchasers of vegetable, fruit, milk, grocery and other food items in the city on Wednesday.

Karachi commissioner office sources sharing details of the exercise Thursday said these retailers pertained to different localities in Garden, Gulberg, North Nazimabad, SITE Area, Airport and Korangi respectively.

They said the campaign initiated as per directives of Commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui would continue till the menace of profiteering is not weeded out and people are provided with the much needed relief.
