HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares finished down 0.27 percent on Thursday in choppy trade with mainland property stocks weighing on the market.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped 63.62 points to 23,779.62 on turnover of HK$69.97 billion ($8.99 billion).
In Shanghai, the Composite Index rose 1.49 percent as gains in resource stocks outweighed losses in the real estate sector, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 40.34 points at 2,749.15 on turnover of 115.2 billion yuan ($17.5 billion).
