Rs3,69,700 fine money collected from 264 shopkeepers

imageKARACHI: City administration in its ongoing campaign against profiteers collected a fine amount worth Rs3,69,700 from 264 retailers, said a report issued from Commissioner office on Friday.

During their routine visits to different retail markets in the city on Thursday the concerned vigilant teams also fined two of the shopkeepers of edible items for tampering with their weighing scales and fleecing the unassuming consumers.

Two of these scales were confiscated by the concerned teams. They also fined 45 milk sellers, 38 fruit sellers, 104 green grocers, one meat seller and 25 chicken sellers for violating the officially approved price lists and overcharging the buyers.
