KARACHI: The Karachi Stock market on Friday experienced intense buying and its benchmark 100-index crossed three upper barriers of 21400, 21500 and 21600 points.
The KSE-100 index closed 281 points up to close at 21644.17 points while 30-index increased by 254.97 points to close at 16764.81 points.
Out of total 339 active scrips, 213 moved up while 102 shed values and 24 remained unchanged.
Significant increase of Rs 120.95 was recorded in the stocks of Nestle Pakistan to close at Rs 6295 while the stocks of Wyeth Pak Ltd were up by Rs 80 to close at Rs 1680.
The stocks of Bata Pak and Mitchells Fruit lost their per share value by Rs 89 to close at Rs 1700 and Rs 8 to close at Rs 511 respectively.
Most active trading of 25863500 shares was recorded in PTCL.
Total market turnover remained at 245275540 as compared to previous 154895390 shares.
Trading of 31645265 shares was recorded in future contracts as compared to previous 18277050 shares.
