MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday congratulated Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro on his victory to succeed the late Hugo Chavez, the Kremlin said.
"Vladimir Putin congratulated Nicolas Maduro on his victory in elections for president of Venezuela," said the Kremlin, adding that Putin expressed confidence that "relations will grow stronger" between the two countries under Maduro's leadership.
