Water shortage will not be tolerated: Sethi

Published Updated

imageLAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Najam Sethi has said that shortage of water will not be tolerated in any area of the provincial metropolis.

He said this while presiding over an emergent meeting held here on Tuesday to review the situation arising out of shortage of potable water in different areas of the city. Secretary Finance, Secretary Housing, Commissioner and District Coordination Officer Lahore and MD WASA were present.

Addressing the meeting, Najam Sethi said that water was a basic necessity and its shortage in any area would not be tolerated at all.

He said that provision of excellent services was responsibility of the government institutions and measures should be taken on war footings for uninterrupted supply of drinking water to the citizens.

He directed the officers concerned to supply water through tankers in affected areas and ensure the generators in working order at all tube-wells.
