PESHAWAR: Police launched crackdown operations against criminals in Pishtakhara in the outskirts of provincial capital as elders of the area assured full support to the law enforcers in maintaining peace in the area.
Jirga elders Aslam Khan and Gohar Ali Shah while addressing a gathering at their Hujra said security situation has improved in the area due to which the sense of vulnerability ended in the people. A marked decrease has been witnessed in street crimes, gambling and robberies in the area in view of strict security measures.
Speaking on the occasion, Jirga elders extended full support to police in crackdown against criminals.
They urged the law enforcement agencies to make sure peace and tranquility in the area and reiterated that the local people will fully support operations against outlaws.
Elders of the areas Malik Faqir Hussain, Malik Sana-ul-Haq, Riaz Khan Pawaki, Ibadat Khan Nawan Killi, Sufaid Ali Shah and Ayub Khan also spoke on the occasion.
