ISLAMABAD: Director General FATA Disaster Management Authority, Arshad Khan said that the Internally displaced persons of Bajaur, Mohmand and Khyber agencies have start returning home.
Talking to VOA, he said that twenty five thousand rupees in cash would be provided to each family and four lakh rupees would be provided to the families whose houses were completely destroyed and one lakh sixty thousand rupees to those whose houses were damaged.
He said fourteen thousand displaced families are registered in South camp and more than fifty thousand persons are residing with their relatives in Peshawar and surrounding areas and all facilities would be provided to them on their return to the areas.
He said IDPs returns arrangements for fifty families were made in first phase and the first group consisted of twenty five families arrived in Mohmand Agency from Peshawar.
He said the World Food Programme has been providing all facilities including free ration to each family for two years.
He said 24 families have been sent back to those areas of the Mohmand tribal region where peace has been restored and the process will continue up to 20th May.
To a question, he said that they have registered 13,000 families from Bajaur Agency and 1500 from Mohmand Agency as IDPs.
The government is following a clear policy about the IDPs and will not repatriate the people of those areas which have not been cleared of the terrorists, he added.
