TOKYO: Incumbent Shintaro Ishihara has been re-elected as governor of Tokyo, media said Sunday, winning his fourth four-year term at the helm of one of the world's biggest cities.
Ishihara, who has a penchant for controversy, easily saw off challenges from Miki Watanabe, founder of a restaurant chain, and comedian-turned-provincial governor Hideo Higashikokubaru, exit polls showed.
