Munter emphasizes Pak-US cooperation

KARACHI: Former US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameroon Munter has stressed on promotion of people to people contact and cooperation in different fields between Pakistan and America besides government to government relationship.

Speaking at a function held here at a hotel on Saturday afternoon in connection with Pakistan Literature Festival he said that bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, health and business are very important.

He said the difference in point of view on fight against terrorism, both the countries should work together for promotion of a tolerant and prosperous Pakistan.

Munter said the US appreciated the extra ordinary sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in war on terror.

About Afghanistan, he said that it is also for the countries of the region including Pakistan and India to see how peace, stability and prosperity are brought to that country beyond 2014.
