LSE sheds 16.54 points
LAHORE: Bearish trend prevailed in Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday as it shed 16.54 points, following the LSE-25 index opened with 4290.83 and closed at 4274.29 points.
The market's overall situation, however, corresponded to an upward trend as it remained at 5.245 million shares to close against previous turnover of 3.541 million shares, showing an upward move of 1.704 shares. While, out of the total 109 active scrips 23 moved up, 22 shed values and 64 remined equal.
EFU General Insurance Limited, Nishat Mills Limited and Nishat (Chunian) Limited were major gainers of the day by recording increase in their per share value by Rs. 3.24, Rs. 2.25 and Rs. 1.85 respectively.
Engro Corporation Limited, Engro Polymer and Chemical Limited, and Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited lost their per share value by Re. 0.62, Re. 0.50 and Re. 0.36 respectively.
The Volume Leader of the day included Maple Leaf Cement Factory with 578,500 shares, Fauji Cement Company Limited with 576,500 share and Pakistan International Airline Corporation with 458,000 shares.
