FAISALABAD: More than 400 industrial units were closed, rendering thousands of daily wagers jobless due to three-day Sui gas closure in Faisalabad.
A spokesman of the industrialists told newsmen here on Thursday that the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) had issued a three-day gas load management schedule for the industrial sector of Faisalabad.
Under this schedule, gas supply to industrial units was suspended from the morning of April 6 till 6:00 am on April 09.
He said that due to gas suspension, more than 400 industrial units in
Faisalabad have been closed.
He said that despite assurances at the highest level that gas supply would be suspended for industrial sector for two days a week "the SNGPL is implementing 3-day gas closure schedule for the industrial sector of Faisalabad."
Meanwhile, a spokesman of the transporters also expressed deep concern over weekly two-day gas suspension for CNG filling stations.
