House listing, census campaign starts

 MIRPURKHAS: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon has appealed to the people to cooperate with the teams performing their duties for listing of houses during the census campaign and get the correct information registered.

He was talking to a gathering at Khaan Road, near District Council here on Tuesday after inaugurating the house listing campaign, to be run April 5, to 19, in the district.

He said that a district control room has been set up in DCO office whose phone number is 9290072.

He further said that the government had already directed that if four families were living in a house then they would be counted as 4 houses.

He directed the Assistant Census Commissioner to complete the census work with honesty and as a national service so that no house is left from the listing.

He said that if any problem arises in this work the district government will fully cooperate for its resolution.

Assistant Census Commissioner Mohammad Shafique said that 28 charge, 134 circle and 1061 blocks have been formed and 613 teachers and staff were conducting this work.

He said for further information in connection with house listing the people could contact on his mobile cell no 03363298960 and 03009131427.

Later, speaking at a press conference DCO Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Memon said that the media should expose the welfare work done so far by the district government and asked the people to cooperate with census teams and get census work completed in their areas properly because it was national work.

In reply to a question, he said that census teams comprise local teachers who could easily complete this work.

He also informed in detail about the ongoing free of cost screening campaign of government employees in the district and vaccination campaign against Hepatitis- B through camps.

Meanwhile, addressing a press confrence, the District Administrator appealed to the masses to get their houses registered in the first phase of house listing.

The Administrator said that media is one source for motivating the masses to register their names. He said that people should fully cooperate with the teams which are listing the houses and conducting census, because on its results will depend the progress of economy and availability of jobs.
