ISLAMABAD: Defence analyst, Major General (R) Jamshed Ayaz has said that Britain can play a major role in improving education in Pakistan as the country is still following British system of education and provide education in English.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said British government should provide more scholarships to brilliant students of Pakistan. He said that "it is good that our government have held talks with the British government in this regard and also on decreasing fees for education.
"Several Pakistanis seek education there and Britain has deeper understanding of this area than the Americans as they have ruled this region for long time".
Jamshed said that Pakistan is facing two major problems of economic and terrorism and British investment would be very significant in tackling both the problems.
He said British investment would also provide market access to Pakistan adding the country can export cotton products, surgical instruments and sport items like hockey and football as these would be very cost effective to Britain.
He suggested both the countries should meet quarterly to review the increase in export; this would help Pakistan to tackle the core problems of terrorism and poverty.
