Benchmark December milling wheat on Paris-based Euronext unofficially closed 1.7% higher at 207.00 euros ($242.1) a tonne after touching a new contract high of 207.25 euros.
"The market is factoring signs that dry weather could hamper wheat crops in many large growing regions," a trader said.

Spot gold rose 0.3% at $1,906.15 per ounce by 1:46 p.m. EDT (1746 GMT). US gold futures settled up 0.1% at $1,908.90.
Trump said he would agree to go higher than the $1.8 trillion that the White House has offered in coronavirus stimulus to strike a deal.

Most-active CBOT December corn ended up 6-1/4 cents at $4.03-3/4 per bushel, after reaching $4.04-1/4, it's highest since August 12, 2019.
China's agriculture ministry said that the country's corn planting acreage had remained "basically stable" this year.

Most-active CBOT November soybeans ended 6 cents higher at $10.62-1/4 a bushel.
CBOT December soymeal ended $8.50 higher at $372.10 per short ton while December soyoil finished 0.71 cent at 33.17 cents per pound.
