HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares climbed 0.70 percent in the morning session on Wednesday, as hopes rise for a deal to avert the US fiscal cliff, and eurozone confidence was boosted by credit rating upgrade for Greece.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 158.02 points to 22,652.75 on turnover of HK$28.67 billion ($3.70 billion).
