KARACHI: Brisk shipping has been observed at the Port during last 24 hours, where six ships carrying containers, general cargo, bitumen, iron ore and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, IOCB and FOTCO Terminals on Tuesday.
Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, chemical and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 75% at the Port on Wednesday where total number of eight ships namely Maersk Kalamata, MV. AI-Noof, MV. Salta, BBC Seine, Cyrus-1, Union Emma, AI-Salam II and Chem Road Mega are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, bitumen, iron ore, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 84402 tonnes comprising 57978 tonnes imports and 26424 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2292 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
