Pakistan B Team defeats India in final to claim 7th Lawyers Cricket World Cup

(Karachi) Pakistan has defeated India in the 7th Lawyers Cricket World Cup Final that was played in Hamilton, New Zealand to claim the Plate Championship.
The match was played between Pakistan Lawyers Cricket Team B and India’s Lawyer’s Cricket Team B.
Pakistan B team won the toss and elected to bat first. The team made a splendid 192 runs in the set number of overs for the loss of nine wickets as players batted with confidence. Batsman Atif Beg was the top scorer for the team as he scored 48 runs of 49 balls.
The other players also managed to score in double digits and propelled Pakistan to a dominant score.
However, the Indian side only managed to score 169 runs as the Pakistani bowlers took early wickets with their crazy spells. The great bowling spells from Muhammad Najeeb Jamali and Muhammad Ali Lakhany destroyed the Indian batting order as both bowlers took six wickets each.
Two more bowlers, Hassan Mirza and Suleiman Huda also displayed economical bowling and took two and one wickets respectively.
Muhammad Najeeb Jamali was declared the Player of the Match due to his outstanding bowling spell.
While commenting over the win, a Pakistani B Team player said, “We are feeling great.”
He added, “I just want to say there were doubters before this tournament that we are not worthy of coming here.” He remarked, “We proved them wrong.”
The news of Pakistan’s win spread like wildfire and people took over social media to celebrate and appreciate the performance of the team.
A facebook user Muhammad Haseeb Jamali commented, “Alhamdulillah, our team lawyers for pak/Sindh have defeated India in the final of the Lawyers World Cup played in New Zealand. We r very proud of them. MA.”
Before the start of the tournament, at least 13 teams were confirmed to play in the Lawyers World Cup. The teams included Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand, West Indies and English Barristers.
Each team played seven round robin matches to qualify for the semi final and final.
