Model Collectorate of Port Qasim has seized a consignment of body cream of Indian origin, Dove, worth millions of rupees, imported by a Lahore-based importer. According to official sources, on December 16, 2019 attempts were made to import Indian origin Dove body cream of Unilever by Lahore based importer M/s KD Enterprises through their clearing agent M/s Fine Services.

The goods weighing 4,752 kg have an import value of Rs 1.5 million and applicable duty taxes of Rs 1.8 million. The origin of the goods was declared as European Union (EU). However, during the examination of the consignment, the goods were found to be of Indian origin. Accordingly, the goods were seized and contravention and legal proceedings have been initiated for violation of relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969.

Collector MCC Port Qasim Mumtaz Ali Khoso appreciated the efforts of the examination team. The vigilance against the Indian imports has been increased on the instructions of Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Syed Mohammad Shabbar Zaidi, Member (Customs - Operation) Jawwad Owais Agha and Chief Collector (Appraisement - South) Suraiya Ahmad Butt. During the action against Indian origin imported goods, various cases have been made by Customs Collectorate of Port Qasim.
