Pakistan's import of pulses slumped to $155.061 million in July-Oct 2019, down by 23.33 percent, official figures say.
Fall in pulses import now stands at $47.183 million in July-Oct 2019 from $202.244 million in July-Oct 2018, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows.
In term of volume, the country's import of pulses reached $336, 371 metric tons in July-Oct 2019 from 369,230 metric tons in July-Oct 2018, indicating a decline of 10 percent or 32, 859 metric tons. Pakistan imported $36.345 million of pulses in Oct 2019 comparing to $49.325 million in Oct 2018, depicting a fall of 26.32 percent or $12.98 million. Import quantity of pulses fell by 5 percent or 4143 metric tons to 79,144 metric tons in Oct 2019 from 83,287 metric tons in Oct 2018.
