Imran Khan to meet Donald Trump today ahead of UN General Assembly

• This will be PM’s second meeting with US president since assuming office.
• PM willl brief Trump of India’s annexation of IoK.
• His address at UNGA will solely focus on Kashmir issue on September 27

Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet on Monday US President Donald Trump in New York City ahead of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) opening to be held on September 24.

This meeting between the leaders will be the first of two meetings during the premier's stay in the States. Matters pertaining to bilateral relations between Pakistan and  US will be discussed in the meeting with the US president.

According to reports, the PM will brief Trump about the current situation in occupied Kashmir and India's human rights violations in the region. During their last meeting in July, the US president had expressed his willingness to mediate between India and Pakistan to resolve Kashmir dispute. However, his mediation offer was rejected by India.

Meanwhile, the PM will also address the UN Climate Change Summit and the Summit on Universal Health Care today. The premier is also expected to meet British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as well as with China's Vice President Wang Qishan on the same day.
