Govt taking keen interest in uplift of Balochistan: Malik

rehmanISLAMABAD: Interior Minister, Rehman Malik has said that Pakistan Peoples Party's government is making efforts to provide all required facilities to the people of Balochistan and steps have been taken to achieve this objective.

Talking to Pakistan Television (PTV), he said that the credit goes to Pakistan Peoples Party leadership which took keen interest in maintaining peace and development of Balochistan region.

He said that special focus is being given to Balochistan area so that all the matters or issues could be resolved in an appropriate manner.

The Minister said that Balochistan will remain a part of Pakistan and the government is utilizing available resources to provide all possible facilities to the people of the area.

He said that PPP government had announced the Aghaz-e-Haqooq--e-Balochistan Package.

Rehman Malik said that Balochistan is a self sufficient province of Pakistan.

Replying to a question regarding missing persons, he said a briefing will be given to media and there is no truth in the figures of missing persons.

He said that many cases, except for terrorism and killing against the Baloch, were abolished and now, the people can come to Pakistan.

Replying to another question, he said that meetings were held with Baloch leaders and the message of the President was also conveyed to them.

The Minister said that some foreign elements are supporting Baloch Liberation Army. He said, PPP government had successfully maintained the peace and tranquility in the Balochistan areas.
