gilani4_400ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Tuesday telephoned Vladimir Putin and greeted him on his success in the election for the President of Russia.

Russian Prime Vladimir Putin who triumphed in Russia's presidential election on March 4, appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and his colleagues for consolidating ties between Russia and Pakistan.

Prime Minister Gilani congratulated Putin on his election as President of Russia and said it was a testimony to the confidence the people of Russia had reposed in his leadership.

Prime Minister Gilani extended an invitation to the Russian President-elect to visit Pakistan in September this year.

Putin accepted the invitation and said dates of the visit will be decided by the two foreign ministries soon.
