BRISBANE: Australia won the toss and chose to bat in the first tri-series one-day international final against Sri Lanka at the Gabba on Sunday.
Australian skipper Michael Clarke returned to the Australian side after recovering from a back injury, with Peter Forrest making way for his captain.
Veteran pace bowler Brett Lee also came back into the side at the expense of Clint Mckay.
Sri Lanka made three changes to the team that beat Australia in Melbourne on Friday.
Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera were both out injured, with Dhammika Prasad and Upul Tharanga coming in.
Paceman Farveez Maharoof, who missed Friday's match with a back injury, returned in place of offspinner Sachithra Senanayake.
The second final in the best of three series will be held on Tuesday in Adelaide, which will also host the third final on Thursday if it is needed.
