Syed Fakhar Imam was elected unanimously as chairman of the National Assembly's Special Committee on Kashmir on Friday. The special secretary National Assembly Secretariat apprised the members of the committee of the agenda and procedure for election of chairman.
Later on, the proceedings for the election of the chairman were started. Sheikh Rohale Asghar proposed the name of Syed Fakhar Imam and it was seconded by Muhammad Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa. Accordingly Syed Fakhar Imam was unanimously elected as chairman of the Special Committee on Kashmir. Members of the committee assured Imam of full support for effective and efficient functioning of the committee under his supervision.
