Pakistan on Saturday condemned registration of first information report (FIR) against Aasiya Andrabi, a Kashmiri leader, by Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA), terming it an attempt to implicate the Hurriyet leader in fabricated cases.
"We condemn Indian registration of FIR against Aasiya Andarabi - continuing Indian attempts to implicate Hurriyet leadership in fabricated cases - which is yet another example of Indian state terrorism, to subjugate Kashmiris. This too shall fail," Spokesperson Foreign Office Dr Mohammad Faisal said.
The Foreign Office reaction comes through a tweet in which it also referred to the recent report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in which it expressed concern over the situation in held Kashmir and also called for formation of a commission of inquiry.
"After the OHCHR report, India continues with intensified crackdown in IHK, targeting the vocal Kashmiris, especially the Hurriyet leadership," the spokesperson said in yet another tweet.
On Friday, the Indian NIA said that an FIR has been registered against Aasiya Andarabi and her associates on April 26 for allegedly advocating "secession of Jammu and Kashmir from the Union of India," and "calling for Jihad and use of violence against the country."
