Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday called upon his perturbed workers who are upset over decline of tickets, saying that they will be accommodated and given a chance to serve the country after formation of the party government. While addressing party activists here at Convention Centre on the occasion of formal launch of election campaign for three National Assembly constituencies of the federal capital, Khan said finalization of party candidates for national and provincial assemblies constituencies and reserved seats for women was the toughest job he ever done. "My wife, Bushra, even told me that she saw me getting old during the last three weeks," he told audiences on a lighter note.
He said he spent 21 years of his life in ground and one thing he learned about competition is 'never underestimate your opponent.' He also talked about reserved seats for women saying first thing his party would do after coming to power is holding fair intra-party elections and women winning those elections would be given party tickets for reserved seats in future.
He added one Pakistan is where law and facilities are different for the powerful and the wealthy while the other Pakistan is for the poor who are even deprived of basic necessities of life. He said Sharif family is caught red-handed but they are still out of jail and maligning state institutions and it is because they are rich and powerful. All the powerful and influential people who spent decades in power, go abroad even for a routine medical check-up and it is because they even failed to develop a single state-of-the-art hospital.
He said every PTI activist should ask PPP and PML-N representatives in their constituencies why their leadership did not construct even one such hospital where they (leadership) can get treatment. He said thousands of children die of waterborne diseases.
"This time is for change. Pakistan is a resourceful country that only lacks good governance," he said, adding the PTI government would generate funds through collection of taxes by building trust of tax payers. He said the PTI government would root out corruption by strengthening state institutions and do necessary legislation to protect all those who will point out corruption in their organizations.
